Eddie really, really hates the way people treat Buck sometimes. No one ever really sees him for all that he is. They look at him and see a pretty face and a beautiful body, and they assume that’s all there is to him. It doesn’t matter that he’s unbelievably kind, and fiercely loyal, and way smarter than he lets on, and all around the most genuine and good person Eddie’s ever known. They decide with one snap judgment that he’s just a dumb, shallow pretty boy, and they treat him accordingly. It makes Eddie sick. So yes, sometimes he steps in and sets them straight.

Dosed (Again)

When Buck wakes up from a nap, he comes out to find his entire team laughing, Bobby too, all of them acting slightly off. Once he finds out what they've eaten—the situation feels all to familiar. He calls for backup, but until then, he's left to take care of his teammates, all of them pulling him in a different direction.

“The laughing gas,” Buck moaned, sounding mortified. “Please don’t tell me I did anything illegal.” Eddie raised an eyebrow. “Do you usually do illegal things on laughing gas?” “I stole a dog once,” Buck admitted. “Ah. Then it’s a good thing I told you that we couldn’t stop to pet every single dog we saw.” ~. While still under the effects of laughing gas after a trip to the dentist, Buck ends up running his mouth a bit and saying a few things he might have normally kept to himself, much to everyone's amusement and Eddie's delight.

Buck’s favorite thing about having a family is that he is allowed to be as fiercely protective as he wants. If that mostly comes out in the form of him letting anyone who tries to date his siblings know what exactly will happen if they hurt them? Well, that’s his business. Or, 3 times Buck gives the shovel talk to his siblings’ significant others plus 1 time they return the favor.

Maddie and Chimney are only using familiar monikers for their brothers, which is why Eddie is very confused when Chimney calls him by one when talking to Jee.

Ana called it off with Eddie, citing his rather domestic preexisting relationship with Buck. After some self-assessment, Eddie decides to approach Buck with a proposition---or rather, a proposal.

Buck has a praise kink. And he is in love with Eddie Diaz. These should be two separate things, but as Eddie calls him a good boy on a call, he reacts so viscerally to it that he might have a problem. A few days pass, leading Buck to fully believe he is off the hook. Then the...coincidences start, where Eddie drops comments that drive Buck insane and seems to never quite notice how visibly Buck reacts to them.

Buck loses the secret blanket he needs in order to sleep alone, but doesn’t tell anybody. As a result, he’s exhausted. Everyone (especially his boyfriend) is concerned.

I found my couch

Buck is given the opportunity to take the captain's place, while Bobby is planning to take a vacation. But Buck hesitates to agree and then Eddie's sudden confession, makes him revaluate his wants for the future.

In which Eddie's parents come to visit, Buck is an idiot and as always, a family dinner goes wrong.

In which Buck has thoughts about Vakentine's day, he makes paper rings and somehow ends up proposing to his best friend. It kinda works out for him in the end.

Bobby can tell that Buck has a secret. He’s been showing up to things late, forgetting important information, and getting easily distracted. Bobby comes to the most obvious conclusion: Buck’s self-diagnosed sex addiction has returned in full-swing.

Eddie doesn’t believe in letting other people win. He has one exception to this rule.

Maddie and Buck find an old bet they made when they were kids, talking about how whoever got married last, had to give the winner a prize. They change the rules some, and mild chaos ensues. Oh, and Buck realises he's in love with his best friend halfway through.

“Eddie and I have been in a relationship for the past three months,” Buck says, the weight on his shoulders finally leaving. He grabs Eddie’s hand, squeezing it for comfort. “No! Are you kidding?” Chimney shouts, frustrated. Buck and Eddie share a worried look. “You guys couldn’t have waited a week?” He then says, groaning, which turns the look from worried to just confusion.

He hadn’t even remembered that he had forgotten the photo; and here was a bright and unsigned missive like a wave from a friend. He smiled bemusedly down into his locker, unsure what to make of it.

Buck was the most forgiving person Eddie knew. In fact, Eddie was pretty sure that Buck was the most forgiving person that anyone knew. Hell, he had even forgiven that psychopath that blew up the fire truck that almost cost him his career and his life. Which is why Eddie was beside himself that he was going on hour twelve of the cold shoulder from his best friend.

Eddie loved Thursdays. He loved getting back from therapy and seeing Buck and Chris waiting for him at home. It was his favorite part of the week. Of course, he wished that Buck lived with them and they were a real domestic family. He wished every day could be Thursday, but that would involve Eddie telling Buck he was in love with him. And that was certainly not something that was going to happen right now. So, Eddie walked into his house, excited to see his boys waiting for him. He got as far as the kitchen doorway before he nearly died. He stopped in his tracks in the doorway when he saw four letters played across Buck’s back paired with the soft smile that Buck was giving Chris. Eddie felt his heart stop. He felt the breath leave his lungs. So Buck was trying to kill him. That must have been his plan all along.

Hold Me It Hurts

“Buck, can you tell me what’s wrong? Why do you look like you’re about to pass out or vomit all over yourself?” Buck’s breathing is heavy but controlled in a way that Eddie recognizes as a technique most of them have used when trying to manage pain. “My leg, sometimes…it hurts. I guess it hurts all the time honestly, but usually the pain is like a 3 or a 4, which I can handle.” Buck lets out a huff of breath, almost a chuckle. “But sometimes, and it’s not always but it happens after long shifts, or like tonight when I’m sleeping somewhere that I can’t fully stretch out, it gets bad. Like, 8 or 9 out of 10.” He admits, his blue eyes meeting Eddie’s across the foot of space between them.
